Relationship with the company’s consumer

Relationship with the company's consumerAs more companies and consumers adopt new smart devices designed to manage the exponential growth of digital information, John Too, president and co-founder of Kingston Technology, the largest independent manufacturer of memory products in the world, reveals the major technology trends for 2011.

In particular, John Too highlights new advances in SSD (Solid State Drives, Solid State Disk), the growing adoption of cloud computing and the need to change the way consumers manage and store their data as main keys for the next year.

Revolutionizing the use of Sods

Analyze the potential of SSD technology-based NAND / Flash-like alternative to traditional hard disk drives (Adds, Hard Disk Drives) is a high priority on the agenda of Coos for 2011 and 2012. In 2010, SSD technology has reached its maturity, and due to increased demand driven by the need to increase the performance of PCs and laptops without having to purchase completely new equipment, its price per gigabyte has dropped significantly. We expect this trend to continue in 2011 as organizations opt for the SSD as the best option to optimize systems and prolong its life. Thanks to this innovative technology, business not only gets a return on investment faster, but also will benefit from a significant increase in productivity.

Thus, in the next five years, Kingston Technology SDD disks expected to be the main form of internal storage on client devices, especially in business and motivated by the exponential growth of corporate information. However, we also expect Sods to traditional HDD coexist for some time in the consumer segment. Thus while the Sods will be responsible for optimizing the performance of equipment to speed up access to the operating system and key applications, the HDD will be used to store data.

The proliferation of SSD technology will also affect various industrial segments such as automotive and manufacturing. Standard SATA interface, and especially the increasing adoption of SATA 3.0 standard, allows to easily deploying Sods in embedded applications and industrial equipment, such as video recording systems, ATMs and POS terminals, and “taking advantage of higher performance, durability and resistance to failures that characterize the SSD technology.
